Fully Alive – Ken Davis Comedian

I watched a video this evening by Ken Davis called Fully Alive. I found it to be very inspiring and encouraging with much good humor throughout.

Do you ever feel like your life is in a rut or you are going through the motions, but you are living in a silent hopelessness or despair and you have lost your Joy? Do you feel that somewhere along the way you have lost your fire and passion that once lived in your soul? Then it is time to rekindle that flame!

Ken shared some very powerful stories about his life from the point of resignation to living life vibrantly. He uses humor to share about his adventures in life, about eternal joy, spiritual renewal and perfect health. He shares about not wanting to live his life any other way except “fully alive” now that he has turned 65 years old.

If you choose to view this one, I do not think you will be disappointed.

LAUGHTER – Good Medicine

Laughter is contagious – have you noticed that when someone is really tickled you cannot sit there and be sober – it makes you start to smile and then leads to you starting to laugh! Believe me, I have tried not to laugh when others are truly overtaken with laughter, but it is impossible to ignore!

They say laughter can bind people together and create happiness – I believe that to be true. It is said to be good medicine as it can improve your immune system, ease pain, boost energy, and decrease the affects of stress on the body. And the best part is it is free, fun, and enjoyable!

Laughter can relax the whole body for a while after having a good laugh, it relaxes muscles, decreases stress hormones, improves your resistance to disease, it triggers a release of endorphins that promote an overall sense of well-being, and it even protects the heart.

Other benefits is that you cannot feel anxious, angry, or sad when you laugh, it can help you recharge by reducing stress levels, and it can actually change your view of situations putting them in a much less threatening light and removes the feeling of being overwhelmed by the negatives going on around you. Humor gets your mind off of your troubles, helps relax you, it releases inhibitions, and allows you to express your true feelings.

Some ideas that can induce laughter:
Watch a funny movie
Seek out funny people
Read the funny pages
Share a joke or funny story
Go to the library or a bookstore and check out their humor section
Host a game night with friends (Balderdash I always found funny)
Play with a pet
Goof around with children
Do something silly; let your hair down
Make time for fun activities (rollercoaster rides, karaoke, minature golf, etc.)
Listen to comedians

Consider laughter an important part of your life, as it is essential in improving your relationships, your outlook on life, and your health. Let it lift you to higher levels so that you are more relaxed, positive, creative, balanced, and filled with joy and most importantly, – share it with others – be contagious with laughter!
