Cardboard Testimonies…

I saw a video the other day and it moved me to share it here.

We all have a story to tell, but often times we do not want others to know about our past. They might not like us or they might sit in judgment of our choices or how we choose to live our lives. But there is not one of us who is perfect and we all make mistakes. In God’s eyes not one of our mistakes or choices is worse than another – although by the world’s standards there seems to be a measuring device where others decide one sin is worse than another, but that is simply not how God views it. Sin is sin, bad choices are bad choices, we all make them in our lives and we all unfortunately live with them and sometimes the weight of them gets very heavy and the burden gets so heavy we cannot carry them anymore. We might think we are not good enough for God and that He might reject us too, but He is not that way!

God has an answer for anything that we struggle with or ails us and we can have a new life if we choose to accept Him into our hearts. He wants to relieve you of the load you carry, He wants to take the weight of your past choices and mistakes and replace them with Him. He does not want you to carry the weight of that any longer, He only wants good things for you.

In 1 Peter 5:7 it states, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” If you feel that no one cares, He does!! If you trust in God, this is His promise to you: “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.” “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11.
In Psalms 31:7 He tells us: “I see your hardships and I care about your suffering.” In the world today there are so few people who care about what happens to others, most are thinking about themselves only and they do not even see the people who are hurting and need a friend, a shoulder, a hand up, a way out of their life choices and they pass by them every day in their travels.

Please watch the video and see that it does not matter what you have been through, what you are going through now, what you cannot seem to get free from, what you cannot overcome and see that others have found an answer to those problems and are free of what kept them from experiencing life as God intended.

Please feel free to share if you would like! I am praying for those who are struggling with bad choices or life circumstances that have you doubting whether God cares – asking that God will show you that life is not hopeless and there is joy in knowing Him! God Bless all who read this.

When did America’s Demise begin?

America was established and patterned after Israel and for many years America was blessed by God. So what happened to our country?

Well, first of all as time passed many attributed America’s achievements to human intelligences rather than God’s blessings and instead of thanking God for His blessings, many ignored his Word, rejected His guidelines, and wanted to go their own way and do it without Him. So the downward journey became a pattern for today and is found in Deuteronomy 8:10-20: “”…when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them… your heart is lifted up and you forget the Lord your God. … you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’
“…if you by any means forget the Lord your God, and follow other gods… you shall surely perish. As the nations which the Lord destroys before you, so you shall perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of the Lord your God.”

We see this happening in America today and at an alarming rate.

By the early 1960’s, atheistic leaders were banning prayer and Bible reading from the halls of our schools, while humanistic leaders persuaded gullible followers that God was not real, just a myth. But many became disillusioned and found it was unfulfilling and instead of seeking Christ, it created a hunger for supernatural power opening the door to trying anything that might allow them to gain spiritual power.

“You have eaten the fruit of deception… you have depended on your own strength.” Hosea 10:13

In the 1990’s the New Age movement came upon the scene and promised unconditional spiritual power for self-centered seekers. It mixed Eastern mysticism, an inflated view of human potential, and a fascination with a mystical force and it invited gullible seekers to be their own god. By the start of the 1990’s it had desensitized America to occult formulas.

“…the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but wanting to have their ears tickled will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4

“In later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons.” 1 Timothy 4:1

Today on the rise is Neo-paganism and multitudes are trading truth for lies and reality for fantasy, and God’s promises for pagan dreams. Disguised as angels, animal spirits, wise guides, or extraterrestrials – demonic spirits are spreading a welcome message and many are falling for it. It all sounded so good, how can it be false? The scriptures tell us why they are false.

“The whole world is under the sway of the evil one.” 1 John 5:19

“…they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools…. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator….” Romans 1:18-25

Then we have Babylonions paganism where Biblical morality is despised, banned, or forgotten. The masses imagine new gods or enticing new distortions of the true God. The self-focused spirituality means war against Biblical Christianity. Those who chase the rising tide of promiscuity feel nothing but hatred for the old moral guidelines that protected Americans from destruction for almost 2 centuries and is now corrupting America today.

“‘They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly,
Saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace.
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination?
No! They were not at all ashamed; nor did they know how to blush.
Therefore they shall fall among those who fall;
At the time I punish them…’ says the Lord.” Jeremiah 6:14-15

“The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth…” 2 Thessalonians 2:9

And finally to global dominion. The Old Testament speaks about times of mass rebellion and idoltry and how God withdrew his protection from the land that He loved.
Numbers 14:9; Mic. 1:11; Isaiah 22:8-9; Deut. 8:6-20, 31:17; Ezra 8:22; 1 Cor. 10:1-11

It is a time where the enemy will enslave the foolish and rebellious people and all the presumed “rights” to free speech, private property, and Christian child raising is ebbing away. But the loss of those rights is only the beginning of what is to come. The earth will be ruled by a global tyrant controlled and empowered by Satan – the Anti-Christ.
“The beast… was given power to make war against the saints… All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast — all whose names have not been written in the book of life… [The second beast] forced everyone… to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark…” Revelation 13:7, 16

No one knows when this will happen, but it will and we are given signs to watch for.
“Learn this parable from the fig tree,” said Jesus after telling His disciples about end time events (wars, famines, persecution, false prophets, lawlessness, apostasy, worldwide evangelism…) “When its branch… puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near, at the very doors… Watch therefore…” Matthew 24:32-33, 42

As long as you follow God – He will bless you with peace. Here are some scripture to back that up:

“These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come.” 1 Corinthians 10:6-10
“…the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness…. Professing to be wise, they became fools…. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves….
“God gave them up to vile passions. …
“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased [depraved] mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness.” Romans 1:18-32
“….there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words
“…if God did not spare the angels who sinned… and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly… then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment….” 2 Peter 2:1-10

I cannot believe that these various forms of spirituality are truly fulfilling and give those who seek them out true peace and a sense of security. God is the only way to true peace, to true fulfillment, and knowledge that you will be with Him in heaven. There are no other ways to God, no other paths that will get you to heaven, only one way – a straight and narrow path, but one of solid security in who holds your future and truly what a heart seeks – God is able to provide more abundantly than any other source out there. It is never too late to turn from these false paths and gods to seek the one and only true God! He is waiting with open arms to embrace you and welcome you – no other God really welcomes you and loves you – only the God of the universe and all creation can give that!

To Heaven and Back by Mary C. Neal, MD

I found this book at my sister’s consignment store and it is about a doctor’s extraordinary account of her death, Heaven, Angels, and life again – based on a true story of what has happened in her life and what her purpose on earth is.

She speaks of her faith when a teenager and the many times God seemed to intervene over the years after getting out of high school and going into medical school for her studies in orthopedics and then to become an orthopedic surgeon. She admits she is cynical and skeptical and maybe that is why she experienced so many times where she encountered angels, her short time in heaven, and many other occurrences that she felt God was close by and intervening.

She wondered why she was brought back to life, which I am sure we would all question that since Heaven is wonderful, but she knows now that God had reasons why she was to be here and she shares those in the book. I have experienced times in my life where I know God was with me and saved my life or was a presence to encourage me and know He is never far away, but always present by my side whether it is He himself or guardian angels.

I enjoyed this book and I do believe that miracles are still performed today, not just something that happened while Jesus walked the earth. Mary dispels the myths that there is definitely life after death.

I watched a documentary the other evening about Life after Death and they spoke only from a scientific point of view and rarely was God’s name mentioned. I was truly saddened by the lack of a connection with God these people had following their experience in heaven – many would say they saw the Mother Mary, others would say it was strictly angels, and only 1 or 2 people stated it was a higher power. I was surprised after their near death experiences that they did not have more of a desire to pursue God. And rarely do you ever hear of the stories of people who had near death experiences who did not see the light, but just darkness. I know there are people out there who have experienced that, but I think most people do not share those because no one wants to believe there is a Hell that people will go to, but in the Bible it states in Revelation 20:15
“And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.” And again in:
Matthew 13:41–42
“The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will remove from his Kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. And the angels will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Satan will deceive many in believing there is no hell, but he is lying. I am sure he already knows that will be his fate along with the false prophet.
Revelation 20:10
“… and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.”

This book by Mary C. Neal, MD is a good one and I found it difficult to leave it lie. I have attached a copy of the front of the book here for your viewing. If you read this book – may it forever touch your life!

God’s Answer to our Prayers…

Cacti and caterpillar

When we pray we are expecting God to answer our prayers as we requested or presented to Him, but how often does that happen? Most of my experiences God send’s me answers that are not packaged like I thought they should look and often times it comes in crumpled, torn packages and I become discouraged. But sometimes God’s packages are in disguise and sometimes I have to wait for it to be revealed to me. I recall a story I read a while ago that tells of this and I am sharing it below:

The Butterfly and the Flower

Once there was a man who asked God for a flower…. ….and a butterfly.
But instead God gave him a cactus…. ….and a caterpillar.

The man was sad, he didn’t understand why his request was mistaken
Then he thought:
Oh well, God has too many people to care for… and decided not to question.

After some time, the man went to check up on his request that he had left forgotten

To his surprise, from the thorny & ugly cactus a beautiful flower had grown
And the unsightly caterpillar had been transformed into the most beautiful butterfly.

**********
I can only conclude that maybe God was wanting to test the man’s faith in Him – was there any doubt, could he wait it out, maybe God did not feel he was ready for the flower and butterfly, but one thing I know is that HIS ways are ALWAYS the best and they are not all packaged perfectly – some things we receive have thorns and appear as something they are not.

If you asked God for one thing & received another, TRUST in Him to reveal it to you.
You can be sure that He will always give you what you need at the appropriate time.

He knows best too because what you want…….is not always what you need!

God never fails to grant our petitions, so keep on going to Him without doubting or little faith.
Today’s THORN…
Is tomorrow’s FLOWER!

God wants to give His very best to those who leave it up to Him to decide what that is!

“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” John 15:7

“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” Matthew 21:22

Be Still and Know…

One of my fave Bible verses is Psalms 46:10…”Be still and know that I am God.”  Why do you suppose God put a verse like that in the Bible?  What does it mean to be still.  I live on a farm in Iowa and I have watched rabbits in our yard dart from one bush to the next and yet there are times when they will stop in transit and be very, very still – almost like they are frozen.

I think about the rabbit in the yard – what must he be thinking when he “freezes” for a moment.   I imagine he is surveying the path ahead, listening and watching for danger around him, and deciding on what bush to find refuge under.   Why do we as humans think that if we do not take time out of our busy schedules and “freeze” and allow God to guide us on our paths that we will make it safely without Him to the next hour?  So often we find that we fall into traps or hazardous circumstances because we did not take time to be still.   He knows what lies ahead and what dangers await us!  Should we not be like the rabbit and be still, seek the all-knowing, all-seeing surveyor and take time to listen to the one who created us and who loves us?

I understand that life is hectic and seems there are not enough hours in our days, but I have found if I do not take time out of my schedule to be still that my days do not go as well.  I have found that if I do take time in my mornings and there are wrenches thrown into my path during the day, I have been equipped to handle what comes because I spent time in prayer, reading my Bible and then listening for God’s voice.  He longs to direct our paths and get us through our days!  Will you take time to be still and know the power of God in your day-to-day life?
